(Alleged) Confession and or Fact: |
Reason(s) to be True or Untrue: |
Questions remaining: |
Possible crime: |
“Natalee just collapsed..” |
Can be TRUE: alcohol, drugs |
But if true: why did Joran not call an ...ambulance? He carried a cellphone. |
Denying help to a person in an alarming situation |
“Natalee just collapsed..” |
Can be UNTRUE: Joran may have done something, that made Natalee collapse |
If untrue: was it Jorans intention to harm Natalee, or did his action unintentionally make her pass out? What did this 'i wanted her to suck cock'-line mean in relation to this? |
Possible crime: (intentional) harm to Natalee |
Joran did not call an ambulance |
—this is a FACT— |
Why did Joran not want a Medic to examine Natalee? |
Possible crime: covering up harmfull behaviour |
“Joran went to a pay phone to call for ‘help’ (id est: help to dump Natalee)” |
This has to be investigated: If TRUE: |
Why did Joran not use his ...cell phone? Did he know he was doing something illegal, and thought the pay phone could not be traced? |
Intention to commit a crime, and leaving someone in need of help alone in the bushes |
“Joran went to a pay phone to call for ‘help’” |
This has to be investigated: If TRUE, id est: if Joran did make a call: |
Who did he speak to and what did he ask? Did Joran really ask a Friend to ....come over to the beach in the ...middle of the night? To ...dump a dead body? Or did he just ask if he could borrow someones boat? |
Intention to commit a crime, involving someone-else in an crime, leaving someone in need of help alone in the bushes |
“Joran went to a pay phone to call for ‘help’” |
If UNTRUE, if it would be proven there is no record of a call, that night: |
Did Joran just made it up, because he knew his cell-phone-records had been investigated allready, and only mentioning a pay phone would make his ‘confession’ believable? |
Possible crime: trying to cover up the fact that he disposed Natalee's body all by himself |
“A Friend came with his boat and dumped Natalee —either in coma or dead— into the ocean” |
If TRUE |
Who would do such a thing for a friend and Why? Can this friend be traced and questioned, could this story be confirmed? |
Possible crime: collaboration in hiding a body and possible, hiding a crime; Possible: murder if Natalee was still alive |
“A Friend came with his boat and dumped Natalee —either in coma or dead— into the ocean” |
If UNTRUE |
The way Joran tells this story, his mimic, tone of voice, eyemovements, gives me the feeling that part of this story could be a lie. Was it really a friend? Someone-else? Would the second person really have checked to see if Natalee was dead just by bending over her, like Joran says? Would a second person risk murder for Joran? Or ...did Joran not ask for help at all, did he just use someones boat? |
Possible crime: hiding a body; Possible: murder if Natalee was still alive |
“A Friend came with his boat and dumped Natalee —either in coma or dead— into the ocean” |
If UNTRUE |
The confessions about Natalee's body and collapse ("The ocean is big..." — "I am so lucky she is not been found" — "She's never going to be found" — "I am in trouble if she is found" — "As soon as there has been a courtcase and I am acquitted, it is not even a problem anymore if she's found with my sperm in her body" — "No, no foam on her lips, she just stopped") sounded believable to me. I believe that Joran has indeed watched Natalee collapse and maybe even die. But if Joran's Friend+boat-story sounds less sincere, and would be a lie, where is Natalees body? In an early part of the car-confession: Joran answers "Yes" to the question ± "..haar de zee in gedaan? Alleen?" (± Did you put her in the sea? Alone?) Although such a question is suggestive, I would not rule out the possibility that Joran took a boat all by himself, to dump Natalee |
Possible crime: hiding a body; Possible: murder if Natalee was still alive and left on the beach or dumped into the water |
“Joran dumped his shoes into the sewer” |
This has to be investigated: If TRUE: |
Why did he get rid of the shoes? Did they contain evidence of something? Did they leave certain marks on a boat? Did they contain evidence that could trace him back to a certain boat or any other place on the island? |
Hiding evidence, whatever reason he had to get rid of the shoes, that fact makes him look suspicious |
